Top 10 Christmas Films | Blogmas Day 8

Christmas films are half the fun of the holidays right?

You snuggle up on the sofa or in bed, a good array of christmas chocolate and snacks and a feel good festive film. Sounds perfect to me.

The thing I love most about christmas films is how warm they make you feel, no matter what the storyline is, the ending will almost always have the same sentiment. Christmas is for being surrounded by loved ones, no matter who they are, and being thankful for everything that you have. You just feel all fuzzy inside after watching them.

As well as that though, they can make you laugh, remind you of christmas' past and things that may have happened at this time of year. They make you grateful and thoughtful, they make you consider those who aren't so lucky.

So without rambling on too much, here's my top 10 films to watch this holiday!

1. Muppet's Christmas Carol
This is an absolute classic in my house. My mum love the Muppets so this is a film that is watched every year (much to the dismay of my sister who is scared if it).

2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
I was only introduced to this film this time last year but I loved it so much I immediately bought it on dvd. I can't believe I'd never seen it before! It's a real christmas comedy that really gets you belly laughing.

3. Elf
Obviously this list wouldn't be complete without Elf! Will Ferrell is just a genius, Buddy is literally my spirit animal. If anything is going to get you in the mood for christmas it's this film. Add I have a girl crush on Zooey Deschanel so that's also a bonus.

4. Love Actually
I mentioned Love Actually in my christmas tag so I'll try not to repeat myself, but it truly is an absolute classic, this is a must watch every year. Never fails to get me right in the feels.

5. Home Alone
Who didn't dream of this happening to them when they were younger just so that could booby trap the house and beat the bad guys? It's a true christmas cracker!

6. Jingle All The Way
One I almost forgot about but, when I saw it, couldn't leave it out. Arnold Schwarzenegger in a christmas film? Oh yes! Remember that toy you wanted so bad for christmas when you were a kid? Imagine your dad (Arnie) becoming it!

7. The Grinch
This goes without saying. For one I'm a huge Jim Carey fan, and two, who doesn't love a bit of Dr. Seuss? The grinch is iconic and proves that christmas truly is magical.

8. Polar Express
Exactly what everyone dreams of as a kid right? One for living out the childhood belief.

9. Christmas With The Kranks
Another one for the laughs. I always wished my neighbourhood were as into christmas as this one.

10. The Santa Clause
Last but by no means least, you have to have a film about santa himself. This is such an oldie, but definitely a goodie.

So there you go, 10 christmas films for you to watch while you procrastinate the last week or two before the holidays! I hope you enjoy them. Let me know if some of these are your favourites to! What would be your top 10?

Love, Beth xo
