Mules

I am obsessed with these new shoes, they aren't my usual taste but I have seen similar versions on blogs and around the internet and was very intrigued by a pair Estee (essie button) wore, however hers were around the £90 mark and these were much more affordable at £20! I managed to grab these from Sainsburys of all places and am excited about pairing them with some new outfits and trying to incorporate them into my wardrobe. They are a decent sized heel that gives you some height without killing your feet, i can't comment on the comfort as I haven't worn them long enough to tell.

I'm interested in attempting to style these, let me know what you would put them with?

Met Gala 2015

I've never been one to say that I am fashionable to say the east but what I can say for myself is that I an in to fashion. It intrigues me and fascinates me and I really wish I had the creativity and the balls to actually make a statement with how I look, or even to try something out of my comfort zone. However saying that, I love to watch other people do it!
Every year the Met Gala has me drooling at stunning dresses and daring outfits, so I wanted to share a few of my favourites picks!

Amanda Seyfried

Jennifer Lawrence

Miranda Kerr

My absolute favourite dress of the bunch was definitely this one that Zendaya wore, I think it was an amazing design and shape, beautifully accessorized and finished off elegantly with simple black pumps.

Travel

Travelling is something I've always had my heart set on doing, I want to go as many places as I can and see as much of the world as possible. If I can I'd love a job that allowed me to travel with it and visit new places, but I know that is a massive goal and not one that's easily accomplished.
So in order to get it out of my system before having to knuckle down again for uni, I have chosen to take a gap year. This is something I've always considered even though I've had my mum try and talk me out of it and I know afterwards it will be hard to get back into the swing of uni lifestyle but I can not wait!

Straight after my exams, I am going to Turkey for a week and then I am going to work solidly to save money to go Interrailing for a month.
Interrailing is essentially a ticket that allows you to use public transport such as trains and buses all around Europe for however long your ticket lasts. Its takes a bit of planning but is so flexible if you are organised and know what you want to get out of that time.

I really hope I get the chance to travel more after uni or even in the summers whilst I'm at uni. I'd even love to live in a couple of places for a little while just to experience different cultures. I think the UK is so sheltered and different from the rest of the world and there's so many amazing things to see that just aren't available here.

I know there are lots of people who have the same aims but I think it's one of those things that are easily pushed aside as a dream that seems unrealistic, or other responsibilities get in the way, so It's important to get as much done now while I don't have many things tying me here.

A person who really inspired my wanderlust is Louis Cole from the youtube channel FunForLouis, and his vlogs are just so awe-inspiring and literally make me so jealous, so I would advise you check him out!

P.S all the photos above, apart from the collage at the top, are photos I took on a recent holiday to Majorca. It it such a beautiful place and is so colourful!

KIKO Eyeshadows

Kiko currently have a 52% sale on their website on certain items and when I notices that included eye shadows I got really excited and couldn't resist making a purchase. Kiko is a brand that I've heard loads about and kind of admired from afar. It's on the more affordable side of the brands but you do have to spend £25 to make an order and if the order is under £49 then delivery is £5.90, so it's not the cheapest in that sense.
But as there was an amazing sale on and I got free delivery as I was a new subscriber, I had no excuse really, right?

So for just over £25 I got 8 eye shadows and 2 palettes, which I was so pleased about! I chose to stick to neutral colours that I knew were wearable and that I would get a lot of use out of. The single shadows were £2.80 instead of £5.90 and the palettes were £2.50 instead of £4.90, which is crazy good value!

So firstly the palettes. They are such a nice, sleek design with a really satisfying magnetic close, which is, lets face it, the best part! They are part of their 'clic system' in which you can switch out the eye shadows to suit what you fancy. It's really easy and a nice idea. The palettes are a nice size, not to big, however I would say that they could be a bit slimmer considering the shadows aren't very deep, but that's just me being picky.

On to the actual shadows and I really like them. These are the first eye shadows that I've actually invested in to be good quality, most of mine are cheap palettes from Makeup Revolution and MUA, so I was hoping for a little more from them. And they have delivered! They are nicely pigmented and can be built up quite easily, they are smooth and blendable and stay all day even without primer.

I got 5 matte shades, 2 shimmers and one satin-y finish. I got majority mattes because I'm not a major fan of shimmer and most cheaper palettes tend to be mostly shimmery shades. I made the two palettes up with lighter shades and darker shades together, so the first palette on the left of the photo has the shades: (L-R) 201 Sparkling Silk, 238 Mat Light Taupe, 210 Satin Brick, 211 Metallic Copper
And the second palette on the right has the shades:(L-R) 240 Mat Dark Taupe, 217 Satin Ebony, 289 Mat Dark Oak, 287 Satin Taupe Grey

I will say, the colour representations on the website aren't that great so definitely look up swatches before you order them.

I wear these really regularly and love them so they were definitely a good investment and I am glad I spent the money and took advantage of the sale! So be quick and get them while they're cheap.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour Foundation

I'm forever looking for a foundation that is compatible with my skin. I get really dry patches on my T-zone and across the top of my cheeks, this being the focal point of the face it's not the best if your foundation clings here. So finding one that doesn't highlight my dryer areas but also has coverage and stays all day is something that I am still searching for.

Since Rimmel has released this lighter shade to their ranges (010 Light Porcelain) I have favoured them as my go to brand for foundation as it is a perfect colour match. It is more of a pinker base as opposed to a lot of other brands being yellow-y, and me being pale with quite a lot of redness on my face, yellow bases don't match on my skin.

I would say this foundation has a medium coverage but can definitely be built up to have a fuller coverage. I don't tend to wear foundation for 25 hours so I can't confirm the name but it does last all day on my skin, and I don't tend to touch up during the day as I don't have the time. On a negative note, I did find that where it was built up with concealer too it can look a bit cakey if you powder over the top, but this doesn't bother me too much as I don't always use powder.

I really like to apply this foundation with the Real Techniques Beauty blender, it allows you to get a really nice, even coverage without any brush strokes. It's really simple to use and fits into every curve of your face. I have only used this dry so far but they do say you can use it wet as well, which is quite different from the typical brush application, although a bit out of my novice comfort zone.

Fashion: White Shirt & Geometric Leggings

So to kick off my blogs new look and name I thought I'd try a fashion post. I haven't done any outfit posts before but they are fun, so I hope to do some more soon!

I had been looking for a baggy white shirt for a long time as it's just a great staple item to have in your wardrobe. I found this one in the sale at Tesco! I think I overlook F&F clothing as the range in store where I live isn't very big however online there is much more variety that is so affordable! I like the length of this shirt as well as it subtle structure.

Next is these geometric scuba leggings. I have been intrigued by this fabric being used in clothing for a while however have always been a bit put off by it's stiffness however these leggings are so comfortable! Again I found these in the sale on Missguided and I love them! They do up by a small zip on the side which I like as it's discrete but a nice detail.

I hadn't paired these items together before taking these photos, but I definitely think they look great together. I'm looking forward to being able to wear these more as the weather gets warmer. Bring on spring and summer!
