KIKO Eyeshadows

Kiko currently have a 52% sale on their website on certain items and when I notices that included eye shadows I got really excited and couldn't resist making a purchase. Kiko is a brand that I've heard loads about and kind of admired from afar. It's on the more affordable side of the brands but you do have to spend £25 to make an order and if the order is under £49 then delivery is £5.90, so it's not the cheapest in that sense.
But as there was an amazing sale on and I got free delivery as I was a new subscriber, I had no excuse really, right?

So for just over £25 I got 8 eye shadows and 2 palettes, which I was so pleased about! I chose to stick to neutral colours that I knew were wearable and that I would get a lot of use out of. The single shadows were £2.80 instead of £5.90 and the palettes were £2.50 instead of £4.90, which is crazy good value!

So firstly the palettes. They are such a nice, sleek design with a really satisfying magnetic close, which is, lets face it, the best part! They are part of their 'clic system' in which you can switch out the eye shadows to suit what you fancy. It's really easy and a nice idea. The palettes are a nice size, not to big, however I would say that they could be a bit slimmer considering the shadows aren't very deep, but that's just me being picky.

On to the actual shadows and I really like them. These are the first eye shadows that I've actually invested in to be good quality, most of mine are cheap palettes from Makeup Revolution and MUA, so I was hoping for a little more from them. And they have delivered! They are nicely pigmented and can be built up quite easily, they are smooth and blendable and stay all day even without primer.

I got 5 matte shades, 2 shimmers and one satin-y finish. I got majority mattes because I'm not a major fan of shimmer and most cheaper palettes tend to be mostly shimmery shades. I made the two palettes up with lighter shades and darker shades together, so the first palette on the left of the photo has the shades: (L-R) 201 Sparkling Silk, 238 Mat Light Taupe, 210 Satin Brick, 211 Metallic Copper
And the second palette on the right has the shades:(L-R) 240 Mat Dark Taupe, 217 Satin Ebony, 289 Mat Dark Oak, 287 Satin Taupe Grey

I will say, the colour representations on the website aren't that great so definitely look up swatches before you order them.

I wear these really regularly and love them so they were definitely a good investment and I am glad I spent the money and took advantage of the sale! So be quick and get them while they're cheap.
