#2014BloggerChallenge Topic Three Once upon a time...

So the third topic for the #2014BC is books! This is such an amazing topic for me as I'm such a book worm, I honestly think there is nothing better than to have the time to snuggle up somewhere comfy in trackies with a nice cuppa and a book. Sounds like bliss to me. Now at the moment it is a lot harder, with college work and a job, to find time to read leisurely and I hate that I'm missing out, so I do find time to squeeze in a bit of reading time even if it is a chapter or two before bed.

I have always wanted to do a book review or suggestion post but just never got around to getting it done, so luckily this is two birds with one stone (again!).

The book I'm talking about today is... Stargirl.

I bought this book whilst I was still in primary school, I think I was in either year 5 or 6, so I was about 9 or 10, and I found it at a book faire that came to our school, I don't know why I picked it up, to be honest looking back it's quite a deep book that I'm surprised I picked up at such a young age. But I'm so glad I did, I've only read it once, followed by it's sequel Love, Stargirl, but I remember so well, and genuinely love the story so much! It has stayed with me that long, and that's got to say something. It's such a great book that highlights that being different from everyone else isn't a bad thing, quite the opposite actually and that you shouldn't be scared to show that just because people may judge you. Deep I know, but it's amazingly written and it even got my friend into reading after reading this little one. It's not a hard read and its not very long either, 192 pages. I really do recommend giving this a go even if it seems a little young for you now, the message behind it is brilliant and thinking about it now makes me want to re-read it immediately! Slight humour mixed with thought provoking content, I love it.

I hope you decide to check this book out and if you do love it, I recommend the sequel too, Love, Stargirl.

I hope you enjoyed my take on this topic, let me know some of the links to your posts if you've joined in!
