Blogging Schedule and Additions

So guys I've decided I need to be stricter with myself. I have been slacking off with my new found organisation and really need to get back on track, blogging and college work included. So to do this I have chosen to set one day a week that I will definitely upload a post, if not more during the week if I have time. Before my birthday I was doing Wishlist Posts every Sunday and I quite liked having that deadline set out, so I've chosen to stick with SUNDAYS. This is the only day I will have as a designated posting day however that doesn't mean I won't post more throughout the week if I want too.

Next I have decided to try and incorporate more topics into my blog, I mainly focus on beauty and wishlist/favourites posts at the moment however I would like to post more lifestyle-y post too. This could be anything from something I have been loving in my day to day life, something that has inspired me or even a little quote that I have come across that's made me think. I keep telling myself that my posts don't need to be a page long, and if anything the shorter the better as it's a bit of a chore reading long posts! Several small yet interesting posts make a bigger impact than one dreadfully long one. So I look forward to just spouting out random little posts about anything.

That's all for now folks, I'll see you on sunday!

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush 03 Honey

So I was supposed to finish writing this and post it a few days ago, but this week I have been in a bit of a rut, a bit down and bummed out about everything, there was no reason for this but I didn't want that to translate into my blog, as I want everything on here to be as top notch as possible. However after posting this I will be following it up with another post, that will be introducing a new schedule that I am planning and also some changes blog-wise. Now without further a-do, let's get onto the topic of this post!

Before this I had never tried a cream blush before, I know that they have been raved about for a long time now and that a lot of people prefer them to powder blushes. However I think I was a bit scared to try them out as I wasn't so sure on how to apply them or how easy they were to use. I always pictured them being too solid and being really awful to get any pigment off, or on the other side them being like a cheek stain and me not being able to blend it quick enough leaving em with rather messy odd looking cheeks.
I think it's fair to say I well over thought these little blushes and have been missing out this whole time, typical!

I found this little beauty on Fragrance Direct for a meagre £5.50, and thought why not?! That is an unbelievable saving of £18.50!!

Without Flash

With Flash
So as I said I had never owned a cream blush before therefore did not know what to expect from this; nevertheless I was blown away! It is so smooth and creamy and blends like a dream! It is a lovely natural colour that isn't to harsh even on my fair skin, it is buildable however can also be applied quite lightly to get a sheerer look. I have been using this daily since I got it and it really is beautiful, I think it is suitable for all year round therefore will definitely get a lot of use. When I first got this I used a stippling brush to apply to but quickly found out that using my fingers really is easier, this allows you to control the amount your using and where your putting it a lot easier and also is soo much quicker to blend out and see the result.

Without babbling on for too much longer, I just want to say I absolutely love this so much! and have most definitely been converted to cream over powder blushes from now on! If you haven't come across this before or have but were hesitant to try it out, I urge you to grab it now, it really is lovely. Sadly I think fragrance direct have sold out now however if you see it anywhere else, don't hesitate to pop it in your basket!

As I said watch out for my next post coming up shortly and I'll see you soon. Hope you enjoyed this review and helped anyone else stuck in the powder blush rut to climb out and be adventurous!

#2014BloggerChallenge Topic Four Highend vs. Highstreet

Wow! So I have been so awful at blogging this week, and it's exactly the opposite of what I had planned. I thought having a week off college would allow me to catch up or even plan ahead blogging wise, yet if anything it's put me behind! So for that I apologise.
It's not even as if I've had the opportunity to blog or even write drafts, I genuinely haven't touched my laptop in days! I was worried I would start to get withdrawals soon enough.

I realise in my absence that I have completely missed the window for the #2014BC and I'm sorry to those who wanted to read it/those who are a lot more organised than me/Gaby who runs it. I know the idea of this challenge was to give your the blog a scheduled idea plan and I've already broken that four topics in! I promise to be more prepared next time!

Well without further ado, here is my highend vs. highstreet.

L- Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Lengthening Mascara
R- Maybelline le colossal volum' express Mascara

I like how broad this topic was, it allowed you to pick anything to do with the comparison of Highend and Highstreet products, which is a universally questioned topic. Everyone wants to know which is better, whether the more expensive is worth it, and if money does buy quality. Now we all know this is a largely debated subject and that 1) it all depends on the product/brand and 2) it depends on you to (the user) as everyone is different and subjective. So I chose to be Switzerland in this debate and just play the fence. I chose to show you my favourite mascara of the Highend And the Highstreet and to compare them and show why I like both so much and above all others. If you've read my blog before neither of these will be a shock as they have been mentioned multiple times, however I thought I'd like to go into more detail into why they appear so frequently.

I'll begin with the cheaper option:

Highstreet
Maybelline le colossal volum' express mascara.
Now this mascara, this beauty has been a favourite for a very long time, I think even from when I first started wearing make up. It was a lucky chance that I happened to blindly pick up such a brilliant product with no previous knowledge of it or what to expect of make up, at that age. It was purely a, "ooh that looks like it'll do the job and has pretty packaging" purchase and I'm pretty sure it may have been on offer, which persuaded me to grab it over any others. So from there I used it, finished it and forgot about it until, I really got into make up again; ever since my make up bag has not been without one!

What's so good about it I hear you say? Well, it separates the lashes amazingly, making them look fuller and more volumous, which is a BIG must for me when it comes to mascara and it also adds length to your lashes, giving them an all round bigger fluttery look. Another great thing about this is that it is black, and I know that sounds silly and obvious, but I mean it's black black, not a faded-need lots of layers to make it look black-black, you get me?

I also love the brush on this, it's bristles rather than silicone which I prefer, and the rounded shape of allows it to grab all the lashes from the root, lifting them and adding a curl. The wand is also tapered at the end making it easier and cleaner to grab the smaller inner lashes. even though it's cheap it doesn't fake or fall down throughout the day which is brilliant.

Last but not least, I love the price! Obviously with it being from the Highstreet it is cheaper than a lot of mascaras and is amazing quality, especially with this in mind.

On to the more expensive one:

Highend
Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Lengthening Mascara.
I think I have mentioned before, maybe in a favourites post, about how I happened upon this one but I run over it again quickly. I got given a tester sample of this with the concealer on the other end, unfortunately the concealer was a shade to dark however the mascara, as you can see, I liked a lot! I was pleasantly surprised as I don't tend to go for lengthening mascara, my aim from mascara is volume and blackness. So when the tester ran out I was umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether I should fork out the money for a full size tube, or stick with my cheapy highstreet ones. Well I blame my blog for this one! but I went ahead and treated myself, and haven't looked back since. Granted I'm still on the first tube but that's a good sign right?!

So what's great about this one? Well for a lengthening mascara it adds a good amount of curl and fullness too, as well as this it does it's job brilliantly, making my (naturally stubby) lashes look long and luscious all day long. It is also very black and doesn't flake either, which is great for long days! The brush on this one is slimmer and has shorter bristles but this helps it to get right to the root of the lashes and pull the curl and length right from the bottom, getting to each and every lash and fanning them out.

It's always nice to have a luxurious product in your make up bag right? and just being able to treat yourself on something you know is good quality and you will enjoy using is always a pleasurable way to hand over the cash, even if it is more than what you would usually/could spend. Plus with more expensive products you always get prettier packaging too, bonus!

So the verdict? Overall I think I would have to say that I love the highstreet one the best, I put it down to what I initially want from a mascara and which performs that the best, so yes the cheaper one is my favourite. But they go amazingly together! My everyday routine is to put on the Maybelline one first then layer the Estee Lauder on top just to give my lashes a boost in length and volume, perfect.

So there you go, my on the fence post on Highend vs. Highstreet mascaras.
I hope you enjoyed this and seeing my view on both the ends of the scale, sorry that it's late I'll be better next time, promise.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss and Nail Varnish

Finally I've got my mits on these beauties! It's been a tense wait but do to demand and shipping issues it took a tad longer than expected, however the wait was well worth it!
Afternoon Tea and New York Night

Cute message on the back

signature heart on the top

innovative doe foot applicator

The first thing I thought when I saw the packaging was "I love how personal it is" Tanya has put the effort in with the smallest details which just shows her dedication and love for what she does. The lipgloss packaging has a little message on the back from her and on the actual tube it has her signature heart on the top. It's simple yet pretty and allows the product to take the whole attention.
As for the actual product, it is super pigmented and so glossy! After being a make up artist for years Tanya knows just what she's looking for and what is needed when it comes to lipglosses, and I can't wait to pick up some more shades (that is saying something considering I'm definitely not a lipgloss fan). The doefoot applicator really got me too, as it's not like any others I've seen, its dipped on both sides to allow it to pick up a good amount of gloss in one go, it also fits to your lips really well. It's not sticky or goey like some others are and is so affordable too for the quality.

As for the nail varnish I haven't been able to try that yet as I wanted to get this up as soon as possible, I was just so excited! But I'll let you know about that. What I will say is that I love the colour and it was represented well on the online swatch when buying it.

I hope you liked seeing Tanya's new line and I'm definitely going to be grabbing some more when I can!

Amazine!

So in my latest issue of Company I saw it mentioned this new website called Amazine.com, this is a brilliant new site that allows you to essentially create you're own magazine, share it with other people, stick their articles in your mag and they can use yours too. I think this is brilliant, it brings in different layout elements and allows to add pictures with text on the side to.

It is a brilliant platform for any budding editor or journalist to get their practise in and share their ideas and trends. It is really amazing how quickly you build a community of people that 'clip' your posts and follow your mag, it is such a communicative place that is so quick to add one idea and then straight away add another, building your online magazine to be a complex and alternative place that can be filled with anything that interests you. There are all different tags and sections, such as beauty, fashion, food, decor, travel, art; it really is a whole world of different creative outlets brought together to form a little tab of your own. You can search for a specific theme or just browse the latest posts, I absolutely love it, I have found so many great ideas and unique designs on there. It's so inspirational to see such a flurry of activity all the time! And following magazines that you like the mood of can allow you to follow that persons future posts and clips too.

I thought to help out anyone who decides to check it out I'd do a quick run over of how to use it and where everything is. It's not a difficult website to navigate but I thought it might help out a few of you. Please check it out, it may not be for you, or you may not even want to make original posts but even as just a place to share others' and to find new ideas, its really is fun to scan through.

Let me know if you give it a go in the comments below so I can have a peek at yours and you can check out mine here.
Have a look at the images below for more information.

I hope this was helpful or interesting for you to read, and I had fun making this post so if there's anything else like this you'd like to see or for me to have a go at just let me know :)

Life Update

Hey guys!
So I want to just chat quickly as I don't feel like I do that much and I want to feel like I can on here.
I will hopefully be posting lifestyle-y posts every so often, just if I want to share something, or something exciting happens, I just like the idea of this being a place where I can just talk.

So first off, this week has been so hectic for me! As it's the week before half term I've had mocks and deadlines and coursework and well, it's all been very stressful. As a result of this I haven't been able to post as much as I wanted or even plan posts, so I'm getting back into the swing of it this week hopefully, however that's another thing.

Next week, weds 19th to be exact, is my birthdayy! and those of you who have seen my Wishlist Series from the start will know that it has been building up to it. I'm quite excited to finally be 17, I think 16 is so overrated and I genuinely can't wait to learn to drive (reminder: must send off provisional application), I can't wait to have a car and be able to go wherever whenever. So I am saving as much as possible! That'll be tricky.

I've seen quite a few people treating Feb as a 'spending ban' month, which I have kind of done, as I haven't really had time to shop however I think I'm going to have to keep on top of my money from now on, with summer and festivals, car bits and bobs and just general needs, money will be a luxury for me if I have any spare!

So that's a quick update, let me know what you guys have planned or whether you're having money savings struggles too! (it's a hard task when cosmetics companies know just how to reel you in right?!)

I'll see you soon with a proper post and hope you guys are having a great v-day!
Lots of love too you lovely ladies

Bedroom Inspiration

Obviously the first place to head to for inspiration on just about anything is Pinterest! It's a site filled with stunning and unique ideas that allows you too make a mood board of anything you like. And if you haven't already check mine out, pop over now and have a nosey around, I don't mind, just click here.

As I'm in the midst of redoing my bedroom, it's taking an age! merely down to timing and circumstance but I'm getting there. So it's given me time to figure out how I'd like it and what sort of furniture I'd like to have. And mainly, time to search and search for inspiration!
So as it's become a regular thing for me I thought I'd share some of my ideas and dream bedrooms, I hope you'd like that :)

I love the simplistic white look but also I love the little knick knacks and cute pots and candles, so I'm hoping to try and incorporate a few ideas to get an overall look. I love the idea of having photos and memories on the walls and the clothes pegs idea is really lovely, and fairy lights are just so cosy looking. The one thing I know for certain I will most definitely have plenty of throws and blankets as I just love the look, and white patterned duvet covers just look so fresh and inviting right? I do need a desk/makeup table for sure and that's the thing I'm finding hardest to decide on, so any recommendations would be great!

I'm finding myself resort to Ikea a lot, surprise surprise right? And I'm looking at new drawers sets, beds and wardrobes, so trying to find ones I like that go together is a lot easier, with their grouped items. I'm thinking a light greyish colour for my walls and white furniture with black features, like a mirror and picture frames, (I already have these).

So I'll keep you updated with any thing I buy and maybe do a room tour when it's done. Don't hold you're breath though, it may take a while.

I hope you liked seeing my inspiration and that it warms up your day, which I hope was unlike mine, miserable due to the pouring rain and gale force winds. Days like this I wish so much that we had a fire that I could curl up in front of with a cuppa and a good book.

See you soon and don't forget to check out my links :)

Wishlist Series #5 Accessories I Want

1/2/3/4/5/6/7
I think it's fair to say I have a bit of an obsession with Zara handbags. they are such good quality and have so many amazing designs at fair prices, although still a tad expensive for me, they are a great item to invest in.
Also I have always wanted a pair of plain black sandal heels and these have a lovely chunky heel to keep them comfy and supportive as well as looking chic and timeless.
These dainty necklaces from Oh My Clumsy Heart are stunning and so individual, I'd heard of the site through Essie Button and after looking I want it all! they're so delicate and pretty, and simple enough to wear with anything.
Finally the chunky statement necklace from Zara is also stunning, I love the colours and think statements necklaces are brilliant for completing and outfit and dressing something up.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I'm I'm wanting accessory wise, is there anything you've had your eye on lately?

January Favourites

I'm sorry this is about a week late, and I'm sure your not interested in my excuses so I'll just get on with it.

So starting with lip products I have has these two in my handbag literally all month, they have not left my side and if I wasn't wearing one I was wearing the other. If you follow my twitter you will know I re fell in love with my Rimmel Kate 05, which I initially bought for my prom back in May, and have neglected since. However after giving it another go I don't know how I could have forgotten about this little gem. Its a gorgeous pink that is bold yet not to out there for an everyday lip, it really compliments my skin tone and is lovely and creamy to apply; I mentioned this one in my Winter Lip Favourites as well.

Other than this for me it has been all about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey Douce 001, I know this was raved about ages ago by just about everyone and their mothers but I was very late to jump on the bandwagon and have only just bought it. It is such a lovely colour that is easy to apply even without a mirror, adding just the perfect amount of colour to finish off a look. I have however found that with this product, as you top it up throughout the day that the colour gets bolder so at the end of the day the result is quite different to the one you applied in the morning. I'm not sure if that's just me or not?

Next up the Natural Collection blusher in Pink Cloud, I bought this while in London in December and have been absolutely loving it to give me a little flush of bright pink, brilliant for winter. This is quite unique in my blush collection as I never really thought I would suit bright pink blushes as I'm quite fair and get redness around a lot of my face, however the blogging community convinced me to give it a go and boy am I glad I did! The only downside to this product is that it doesn't last all day so it does need a bit of a top up throughout the day. Paired with this I like to use e.l.f's Bronzing brush, it is angled and quite fluffy making it perfect for applying powder blush, however this brush isn't very soft and can be quite scratchy on the cheeks. I was disappointed with this as all my other e.l.f brushes have been lovely, yet I can't moan at their cheap price tag.

For skincare I have been loving using Superdrug's Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser, it came with a muslin and was a great price. It takes my make up off really easily and doesn't leave my face dry either. Savlon has been a saviour this month! It has really helped my redness and dry patches this month as my skin has been really affected by the weather, being much dryer than usual and becoming sore. I have put this on each night quite liberally and it has cleared my skin up amazingly well.

Lastly, other general beauty bits and bobs, I have been loving my Estee Lauder Double Wear mascara again recently, I switch up my mascaras quite a lot as I have so many and i forget about how much I love this one, I get some many compliments with it and it really does make my eyelashes look amazing. Just love it a lot. And finally my new concealer recently, the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 15, I have really fair skin so I find it difficult to get a concealer that is the right shade, this range is brilliant for that and the concealer is actually really good, and is brightening as well so is great for under the eyes. It is light and easy to blend, quite a light coverage but can be built up without looking cakey. Next to try the matching foundation, anyone know if it's any good?

Better late than never right? I really do like to keep up with these so I do try to post them monthly, even if they are a tad late.
Well done for getting this far, my monthly post seem to be quite long! I hope you enjoyed seeing what I loved last month and don't forget to check out my links :)

Christian... why do you do this to me?

And by Christian I mean Louboutin, of course. Who else could it be?

I was scanning an outlet page last night at silly o'clock when I came across these beauties and my heart sunk. I've fallen in love with a pair of shoes that I will never own and will never even get the chance to *sobs quietly*.

Ok, so 1) they are gorgeous! Just beyond belief, the intricate pattern and detailing is amazing and the colours are phenomenal, too much love for these shoes? I don't think so.
2) the size and shape of the heel is so appealing to me, it looks supportive and comfortable, as well as the design being continued down the heel covering the entire shoe.
3) just the red soles, I need a pair of red soles so much! They are stunning and so luxurious and every girls dream.

So it's fair to say if I was ever rich enough,(I'm dreaming big, people) one of the things I would do is get them to remake this shoe just for me. I just want them so badly. So pretty!

Unfortunately even discounted these beauties come to a massive £742.50 and the last pair is half a size to small anyway :( I reckon I could squeeze! ;) So I'll just keep looking and maybe one day I'll save up enough and buy myself a pair, maybe I'll start saving now!
