September Favourites

Ok so is it bad that I didn't even realise it was October tomorrow? Oops.

September has gone surprisingly fast and I am actually so shocked! I think I've lost some days somewhere. Being back in a routine of work and college has really swallowed up my time and I haven't even noticed. Anyway before I start rambling I'll get on with this months faves!

So I've been enjoying quite a few un-beauty related things as well this month as well so I thought I'd mention them as it's nice to mix it up a bit.

However I will begin with the beauty items:

Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof kohl kajal eyeliner in 001 black
This is such a great eyeliner, it glides on your tightline with ease and has great pigmentation. I use this everyday and it's very good value.

2true kohl pencil in no16 white
I never knew the brilliance of using a white eye liner until a couple of month ago, I saw it on a youtube video and was amazed at the difference to your eye. It makes your eyes look wider and more awake, which is definitely something I need for college. Because I didn't know if I would use it much I decided to begin with a really cheap product so I picked this up from Superdrug from their own line 2true, it was something like £2 or maybe less and actually for the price it is surprisingly pigmented and long lasting. I also use this everyday on my waterline and occasionally in the inner corner of my eye. (I have been trying to switch this up with the nude scandaleyes liner however at the moment I am gravitating towards this one the most)

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer
For anyone who read my review of this product will not be surprised to see that it has crept into my favourites as well, I can't rave about this enough and if you want to read my full review it's over here.

Real Techniques powder brush
This isn't technically a beauty product however it fit better in this category than in skincare, so yeah. I absolutely love this brush, it makes my morning routine so much easier I can sweep this around my face and my makeup will be set, no trouble. It picks up a good amount of powder and puts it evenly on my face. Love the fluffiness of this brush, definitely my favourite brush.

Skincare

Garnier Moisture Match for dull skin
When I first bought this moisturiser I loved it, however after about 2 weeks of using it I fell out of love with it. But guess what.. I love it again! I can tell this is going to be one of those love hate products that I will constantly be battling with. Anyway I decided to give this another go and am actually really enjoying using this, I use it before I put on my makeup in the mornings and find it really does liven up my skin and make it look a lot less dull (duh beth read the label), a little goes a long way and it sinks in quickly, which is another plus in the mornings, when I'm rushing around like a headless chicken!

Witch Blemish Stick
A couple of years ago my friend recommended this to me as she said it had really helped with her spots and blemishes, so I went and bought it and really loved it, however I lost it and kind of just forgot about it. But when I started to battle with quite a few blemishes and spots again I remembered how well this worked and sought it out to buy it again. And boy, I am so glad I did, I tend to rub this on once I've taken all my makeup off before bed and also before I put my makeup on in the mornings. It's one of those products that you can really feel working, I'm not going to lie it can sting but to me that's a sign its doing its job, right? It does say use with caution on sensitive skin so I have warned you! I may do a full review (or fuller that was quite extensive for a monthly faves) on this product so let me know if you'd be interested to read that :)

Last, but by certainly no means least,
Pop Tarts S'mores flavour
I can not explain my love for pop tarts, there are so many flavours that I still want to try but I bought these and I loved them! They are so good, please go and try them!

So that's all for September, hopefully I'll experiment a bit more with my makeup now it's autumn, so I might have some more interesting things in next months favourites!

I would also just like to say it's my blogs' 6 month anniversary! I so surprised I've actually got this far and stuck to it (mostly) I know I have been a hit and miss at points but I actually really happy with how my little blog is and I'm looking forward to seeing where I'm going to take it. I've really loved having this little space to share this and hope many more posts will be coming your way.

I hope you enjoyed my post and if you want updates for when I post either follow me on Bloglovin' or on my twitter, thanks for reading :)

The Fault in Our Stars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqG55HdmKTE&list=TLxTT9fNL9unTTR_xR6lFczkamWj3f2L7E

Above is the link to a youtube video by Troye Sivan, he is an australian youtuber that does vlogs but also sings, I was looking through his videos and I found this one he made in May. He was inspired by the book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, now I personally adored this book, it literally made me laugh and brought me to tears (actually sobbing). The book, if you don't know, is about two teens who have cancer and are brought together through a help group for them. It shows the story of how they fall in love and has a massive twist at the end that I will not ruin for you!

Anyway Troye was so inspired that he wrote a song about it and also visited his local children's hospital to film a video for the song; he made and edited it all himself which I think is pretty amazing. He also was helping to raise money for the hospital and encouraging everyone to at least spread the word, in his words "even if you can't donate, someone else might be able to", I just wanted to share this because the story and all that Troye has done has really touched me and also the song is just beautiful.

If you haven't read the book yet I highly suggest you do I guarantee you will not be able to put it down, I am an avid reader and have fallen in love with John Green's books, another of my favourites of his is Looking For Alaska. So go pick up a copy, I promise you will not regret it!

I know this isn't beauty related but I hope to be adding a few more lifestyle-y posts and other things to make this blog more of my own.

Hope you enjoyed my post and for future updates check out my Bloglovin' :)

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

Ok so this is an achievement, I'm actually blogging within a week of my last post! I'm impressed with myself, but I just couldn't resist; I had to share with people I knew would understand my beauty ramblings.

So I have no idea why it took me forever to buy this concealer but, well it has, so shame on me! I kind of just glazed over the rave review after rave review of this product and assumed it was one of those products I wouldn't need or would phase out eventually; but boy was I wrong this is such a staple product that virtually every beauty blogger will bow down too. I never really bothered to find out for myself why the product was so good and I am still cursing myself for being so lazy.

As you all know this product is amazingly good value and and I got it for even less! In my local Superdrug most of the collection items are on offer for under £4 and have been for a while so I decided to take advantage of that while I could and I got the lasting perfection concealer for £3.69 instead of £4.19. Now this is one of those revelation moments when you a product is so good and so beyond your expectations that you see everything hat was wrong with what you used before. Now this sounds quite dramatic just to be talking about a concealer but it has literally changed my daily makeup forever!

This concealer is such a good colour match for my skin, it's matte, it has amazing coverage that hides blemishes and redness easily and also doesn't look cakey; what more could you ask for? The last concealer I was using, as you may know from previous posts, was Miss sporty's liquid concealer with vitamin E&C, and I was pretty happy with this product, it did mostly what I wanted and was cheap enough. However, it didn't last very long and didn't have the best coverage meaning foundation was a must on most days, also it tended to make my face a little shiner (which I covered up with powder) and wasn't great for the under eye area.

The collection lasting perfection concealer is so good that I actually have gone without foundation on some days, just popping this on red areas or blemishes to even out my face and under my eyes, then setting it with some powder. I'm blown away that such a simple step in my everyday makeup can make such a difference and also I find that I'm not as consciously worried about touching up my makeup or it slipping off my face throughout the day; I can come home after a full day at college, putting it on at around 7:30 am and getting home around 5pm, to find that my face still looks reasonably presentable with concealer still where I put it that morning. This is now a definite must-have in my everyday routine and can sense it will be a hard one to replace.

Now I feel like I've rambled on about this for far to long and I thin you get the gist that I'm really happy to have this in my life. I've finally got that out of my system, so feel free to say "I told you so" and shame me for not jumping on the bandwagon sooner.

Were you guys as excited when you first tried it? It is a must have in your makeup routine too? Let me know so I don't feel like such an idiot haha.

I hope you enjoyed this post and don't forget to check me out on Bloglovin' :)

Collective Haul

*JUST IN ADVANCE THIS WILL BE A PICTURE HEAVY POST THEREFORE WILL NOT HAVE MUCH TEXT*

I sat down to write this a couple of days ago and didn't get much further than about two sentences. I felt really unmotivated and like everything I wrote was pretty crap, so I thought rather than putting up a half hearted post I would wait until I thought I could do it some justice, so I'm going to try again.

A quick update: I've decided not to do any more picture quotes for the moment, I may bring them back in the future but I felt like they were taking up a quite a bit of my post and they may not have appealed to everyone.

Also having been at college a few weeks now I've decided I'm going to try and post weekly, on the weekends, this is when I have the most time to actually sit down and write a good post, I also might run through anything that may have happened throughout the week or any outfits I have particularly loved wearing.

Anyway onto the haul! Everyone loves a good haul post or at least I do so I thought I would put together all my little purchases that I have recently acquired and make a collective haul.

Firstly I revisited my much beloved Fragrance Direct and grabbed a few bits and pieces:

Left to Right- Rimmel lasting finish 1000 kisses lip tint and balm in Nothing But Nude/
(the same) in Carry On Cherry/
Maybelline colour sensational popsticks in 080 Cherry Pop/
Calvin Klein delicious truth sheer lipstick in Retro

Finally a couple MUA and Rimmel items I picked up whilst in Superdrug:

Shade 24

The 'Emotions' merged trio eyeshadows

I'm not going to comment on all of these as there is just so many it would make this post ridiculously long and no one would read it! However if you would like a specific review of an item just let me know and I'd be happy to write a post. Sorry about the amount of pictures but sometimes I enjoy just looking at what people have bought rather than reading reviews on products that have already been written about time and time again.

So I hoped you enjoyed looking at what I got and there'll be a post soon that I'm quite excited about!

Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' and check out my new twittter where I also post my updates @Beauty_IWant :)

PS. there is some colour distortion in the nail varnish and lip products this is due to use of the flash and crappy natural lighting, I am very sorry.

Real Techniques Brushes: Powder Brush and Setting Brush

Since starting college I have realised that you really need to be able to be independent. You get a lot more freedom in college and you have to work off your own back, no more being spoon fed and no more being a little sheep. You get the chance to choose what you want to do and where you want to take yourself. Although you may keep some friends it is really a time where you become separate from the little group you are comfortable with, it's sort of like being chucked in the middle of the ocean; you have to find your own way around. It's quite disorientating and you do find yourself looking to stay in your comfort zone, but now is the time to step out of that and find what you really enjoy. People are a lot more diverse in college and there are many types of people that may not have been in your secondary school, you can find people who are really interested in the same things as you, where as before I felt like I had to fit in.

So in my last post I said how I hoped getting into the college routine would help me blog more regularly but I guess that didn't work out like I'd hoped. I think I'm going to need to organise myself slightly better, tut tut Beth.

Anyway, I've naughtily allowed myself to buy quite a lot of stuff lately (look forward to a haul post!) and I thought, to justify it all to myself, I would show you lot what I got, obviously. Starting with my first ever Real Techniques Brushes!!

I was soo excited when these arrived, I had waited for ages because when I bought them I didn't realise they were coming from Minneapolis USA, oops. But they finally arrived and I am so pleased with them, they are incredibly soft and such good quality. I haven't got around to using the setting brush yet but the powder brush is amazing, it picks up a perfect amount of product and is just a delightful addition to my everyday routine.

These brushes have a great reputation and I am so happy to have finally added some to my collection, I have definitely got my eyes on grabbing some more, oh no! I got these particular brushes off of a website called myprettyfaceplace.com, it is such a good site for bargains, they also sell e.l.f and NYX products so pop on over.

I got the powder brush for just £6.31 that's a saving of £6.68, under half price!

I got the setting brush for just £5.04 saving £3.95!

In case you're interested the Starter Kit, Travel Essentials Kit, Core Collection and also the limited edition Duo Fibre Collection are for sale on there too.

I just wanted to add that on the order details page that comes with the package they wrote a note and I thought it was really cute! It was hand written which means I guess they do it on all of them but I love how they put the effort in to add that personal touch.

I hope you enjoyed my post and don't forget to pop over to my Bloglovin' and follow my blog for updates.
P.S sorry about using flash in all the photos, it's getting darker now and with a busy college schedule and work on the weekends it's hard to fit in picture taking when there's nice natural light :(
