Glitter, Sequins and Freebies!

L'Absolu Rougue- Rose Nu 006
So I have spent forever trying to find some sort of clutch bag that will match my dress for my leavers ball, and considering it is in less than 2 weeks I was kind of freaking out a bit. I was flicking from one website to another and god knows how many clutches I have looked at but finally I found myself on good old eBay. I was at the end of my patience when I found this beauty and I actually fell in love. My first thought was will it match because my shoes are silver and the description of this was 'gold' but then I thought, I don't really have time to worry about things like that so I just went for it and bought it. An added bonus was it came with a lovely Lancome lipstick!

Now this incredibly cute mini lipstick is the L'Absolu Rougue lipstick in Rose Nu 006. I absolutely adore the colour and it is definitely something I would have picked myself so I am very pleased with that. It has a great texture and goes on really smoothly, it isn't very drying at all and is really quite pigmented. So overall for a freebie I feel like I have conned them to be honest, considering the retail price for it. Rather impressive.

So when the clutch arrived, very speedily (2 days!!) may I say, I was so excited to see that it actually isn't that gold at all and is perfect! So with the sparkles on my dress, clutch and heels  I am going to be one reflective ball of glitter.

Just thought you might like to see my heels, in which I am uber tall (6 inches) and I am needing some desperate practice in these babies so that I will be able to actually walk on the night without breaking my ankles or neck or whatever. They are from a great website that I recently found since ball shopping began, called Nelly.com, and I think it's all quite reasonably priced and has some good stuff, so check it out.

Ooh! Sequins!

Mini Avon Haul

I have never bought make-up from Avon before however I do tend to get a catalogue plonked on my doorstep regularly; so I decided to have a look and see what sort of stuff they had.

Clear skin clear emergency instant spot treatment-£2.25

The first item I came across was this emergency spot treatment; now I know personally when I get a spot it tends to start and end it's life leaving a nice red mark on my face, so as this said that it can help to reduce redness in just 3 hours I thought, for £2.25, I may as well give it a try and see what happens. Well I have tried it a few times since buying it and I must say it does help to reduce redness slightly, however I don't think I will repurchase this as it isn't my favourite and I would say it takes longer than 3 hours to fully kick in.

Colour Trend chopsticks eye liner in Black Cat Eyes-£2.50

Shade-Black Cat Eyes

The next product I discovered was this interesting looking eye liner. This model is called a 'chopsticks eye liner' and when I saw it I instantly thought of a miniature version of Bourjous Queen Attitude kohl kajal eye liner. I only tend to wear black eye liner therefore I went for the only shade of black they had, however i didn't realize until I received it that it had tiny specks of glitter in it, now I wouldn't wear this everyday as a commonly used eye liner however I think it would be nice if you were going out, also it stays exceptionally well which would encourage me to use it for special occasions even more. The shape of the pen gives you  great accuracy and makes it easy to apply, just like a liquid pen liner.
Colour Trend Lip Stix non retractable lip crayon-£1.99

Shade-Reddy To Go

Recently I have become very interested in putting more colour on my lips whenever possible; this means that I have become obsessed with looking at lipsticks, crayons, stains, tinted balms, anything I can get my hands on. So I was flicking through the 'lip' pages when I came across these Lip Stix. Now I have wanted a bright red lippy for so long and I thought at this price where can I go wrong? and everyone needs a bold red to go in their make-up collection. These crayons are very balmy and moisturising on your lips and also tend to give off a glossy effect, I think they are perfectly pigmented and show up really nicely on your lips.

Dove Real Beauty Sketches

I was scrolling through my YouTube homepage when I came across a new video by one of the vloggers I subscribe too(meganheartsmakeup), she was talking about a video by Dove that she had watched and
that really made her think. So I decided to follow her link and  watch the video for myself.
It's called Dove Real Beauty Sketches, and it shows how the way you see yourself does not
reflect the same way that others see you. I think it is so important that as many people see
this as possible and even though it does affect girls a lot more, with beauty and self-image, it
does also affect boys, so don't be afraid to share or watch. This video shows you that how you
look at yourself and how you see yourself can be so negative and this greatly impacts your
everyday life and also the people around you. However if you take the time to see yourself
how others see you and to appreciate what you have then you can be so much happier and
more content.

I want this video to be shared as much as possible and to be seen by as many people as
possible. This video can open your eyes and make you realise that beauty really is in the eye
of the beholder and no matter how cliché that is you need to remember it. If you picture
yourself in a negative light that is how you will appear and furthermore you will act this way
and become what you have imagined. If you give yourself a break and try to look at yourself
from a different perspective you can be pleasantly surprised.

^^^this is the video link so please go on over and watch it

Boots Trio

I was in boots looking at the skincare section trying to spot a new exfoliater when I came across these bad boys. The Boots essentials cucumber skincare range.

I firstly picked up the face wipes because you can never have enough and considering they were £1.50,  I think it was a bargain. The first thing I noticed was that they smell great! They smell so realistically like cucumber and it's such a fresh scent that really refreshes your skin. They are good for what they do and are also quite durable.

I then came across the gel make-up remover. Now I don't quite know what I was expecting from this product other than for it to take off my make-up however I came away quite disappointed. It takes quite a lot of the gel to fully remove your eye make-up especially if you have quite a lot on, however you can't use too much at once otherwise it goes everywhere and oozes off the cotton pad. I found myself using pad after pad (which is quite a waste) and still not getting anywhere, other than spreading the make-up around my face and giving myself panda eyes. I would not recommend this very highly and will definitely not be repurchasing this.
I picked this little pot up to try out because i have only been using one moisturiser at the moment and thought it was about time I experimented with some different brands; and with amazing luck I have discovered a little gem straight away. For £1.50 I am definitely going to buy this again. When I first went to try this out I was a bit unsure as it has quite a thick texture and seems to be quite gloopy; also once you put it on your skin it seems like it will take forever to soak in, however, as I quickly found out, it soaks in nicely! You don't need to use much and you should massage it in quite thoroughly, making sure not to leave layers of it on, but after that it soaks in and also makes your skin feel plumper (which is an added benefit). The fresh cucumber smell is so refreshing and I'm sure this tub will last for a very long time.

Overall the Boots essentials have won my praise and, for their prices, are great products for a budget.

Hair Mare

Left: big&bouncy XXL volume
Right: fruity&cheeky cherry
Nail Varnish: Parma Violet- Topshop
My sister told be a couple days ago that Superdrug had an offer on Batiste dry shampoo, so obviously i had to check it out. Now i know offers are supposed to mean that you save money however that never seems to be the way for me. These were both half price and in my brain that translated to " Oh! you can buy two instead of just one!" so that's what i did. I guess i did save money as i got two for the price of one; but i think the idea was to buy just one and only pay half the price.

Anyway onto what they are like. I picked up the cherry one to start with (right) because, well i love cherries, i also thought the can looked really cute. First things first, it smells a-m-a-z-i-n-g! and we all know batiste is great so i don't need to tell you anything you already know.
I then went on to look for another one as bargains make my brain fry and cause me to just keep spending, when i came across the extra volume one (left), now i was skeptical at first to whether this would actually work or do anything at all frankly; however when i try it out i was pleasantly surprised! The only thing i can compare this to is the Schwarzkopf got2b Powder'ful Volumising Style Powder, when you spray it on it creates an almost sticky texture in your hair that when styling allows your hair to boost its volume and shape nicely. I think this was well worth the money and great to give your hair a little touch up when needed and also to give you some volume too. The can is at a workable size so it can fit in your handbag however would be easier to keep at home as you can buy miniatures of batiste to travel with.

So far this is the best brand of dry shampoo i have found but if you have any other recommendations i would love to try some more out :)

Earrings!!!

I have a slight obsession.
Much to the annoyance of my mum i seem to have developed an obsession with buying earrings. My view is you can never have to many! There are so many different occasions and outfits and moods, that means you will never want to only have a small selection to choose from.
Anyway, i have decided to become more organised and to sort out my, slightly too messy, room so i thought i would begin with the small things.

I originally kept my earrings in pots, studs in one and dangly's in another, however i got fed up of not being able to see what earrings i had. Therefore i splashed out and bought myself two different racks for my earrings. Now they did take a while to come as they were shipped all the way from Hong Kong! But when they arrived i was so excited to get all my earrings on show. Sad i know...
But here they are the top one is black plastic with two pretty floral decorative layers and the second one is for my studs, it spins around so that you can see all of your earrings :D
The wonders of eBay!!!
These racks have been such a worthwhile purchase and are so worth the money, they are really easy to fit into any style room and still look amazing, so if you need to be a bit more organised then these are for you!
They are still available to purchase and the links for each are in the caption.

Topshop Nails and Lips

Left: AWOL Right: Parma Violet
I was in topshop the other day browsing the nail varnish collection after watching a video by Zoella, she had mentioned a colour that i particularly fell in love with called Parma Violet. Firstly i just couldn't resist the name as i love parma violets, secondly purple, in any variation, is my favourite colour therefore i am likely to want to buy the nail varnish anyway. However once i had picked up this i noticed that Topshop had an offer on nail varnish's leading me to look for another colour to buy also. Then this blue colour caught my eye and i picked it up hesitantly, put it down, looked at some others and picked it up again. They are both lovely colours to wear and have been complimented on both whilst wearing them; they do take a few coats before a nice solid colour is shown but i didn't mind that due to the outcome.

Coy
Whilst i was in Topshop looking at the nail varnish's i decided to have a glance at the other makeup items they had. I have recently become a lot more interested in lipsticks and using more colour on my lips however i am quite hesitant to go bold and bright. So i thought to ease myself in i would stick to some more natural pinky colours; this lip crayon is so easy to apply and has great pigment. It can be smudged on to add just a hint of colour to your lips or applied fully to reveal its full colour and i love the flexibility this gives you. Hopefully in the future i will be brave enough to try out some bolder shades but for now i am perfectly happy with this little gem.

If you do have any suggestions for lipsticks or lip colours for me to use i would appreciate it so much :)
