Style Crush: Bella Heathcote

I came across Bella in a magazine I was flicking through and I was immediately obsessed with her style! Each outfit is put together effortlessly from head to toe, flattering her figure and skin tone. I love the structure that shape her outfits and the colour palettes that she uses. My favourite outfit of the bunch has to be the red top and yellow maxi skirt, it's simplicity and bold colours just ooze style. I love the combination of leather and lace, the mix of textures from the pleats and the laced heels and how the simple jewellery and small clutch complete the look perfectly.

Freedom Makeup: Eyebrow Products

Recently I have been a lot more interested in finding a product that will make my brows more structured and even whilst still looking natural. I was pretty happy with the product I was using previously (Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil) however it was still quite noticeable to me that the colour was just a bit off; as it always is with blonde brow products! So I thought I would venture out of my comfort zone and look for new formulas in order to satisfy my brow needs.

I've heard a lot about Freedom makeup recently and when I saw that they were bringing out a brow pomade -hailed to be a dupe for the Anastasia Dipbrow- I thought I would try it out as well as their brow powder duo. They were both inexpensive considering other offerings on the market at £5 for the pomade and £4 for the powder (it's on offer for £3 right now) and after a little research about how the colourings were irl I decided on the shade Blonde for both. 

As it turns out they're pretty good matches colour-wise. The pomade is darker and great for a strong brow look, I think this has to be applied lightly with soft strokes, else it can look very fake and a bit too dark for my preference, however it's great to have as a part of my collection. I will say that this stuff has great staying power, so no concerns about it not lasting. The swatch on my hand was still there at the end of the day!

My favourite of the two is definitely the powder; I only use one of two shades as the right is slightly to warm toned for my hair colour, however the left shade is the perfect ashy tone. I use an angled brush just to lightly fill in my brows where they're sparse and lack shape and it looks so much more natural than a pencil. I love that I can easily achieve different intensities with this product, depending on my mood, just by adding a bit more product and it still doesn't look overly fake. I would say it lasts for most of the day, still keeping it's shape, however there is some loss of definition. I just use a small bit of brow gel to keep them in place and it's great to go.

I would really recommend these products for the price and quality!

So much Ego

Ego is a brand that seems to be popping up everywhere at the moment, and I'm not sure if that is down to brilliant advertising strategies or if it is because they have truly earned their way onto our screens (this is not a sponsor, just my opinion). However they seem to have an amazing range of shoes that are to die for and aren't outrageously expensive either!

It's no secret that I have an unhealthy obsession with ankle boots and if you haven't guessed I'm pretty keen on black ones. They go with absolutely everything from jeans to dresses and they give me that added height that at 5'2 I'm in desperate need of. They come in all different types and the more varieties I come across the more I love them! Open toed boots are great for a transitional spring wardrobe that is essential at the minute with such unpredictable weather and allow you to create more interesting shapes in your outfit. 
Recently sock boots became a thing and I'm all over it for a clean silhouette that gives off no leg shortening, ankle cut offs. They're sleek, sophisticated and to on trend for everyday or a night out; as shown perfectly by Amanda Steele below.

I also spotted these amazing faux leather boots with the gorgeous dappled heels on @Hayleighjm's instagram and instantly fell in love!

So it's safe to say that my obsession for ankle boots isn't going anywhere anytime soon and if anything it may get out of hand before that happens. Someone take my card away from me?

One To Watch: The Other Olsen

I feel terrible for titling the post what I have but if I'm totally honest Elizabeth Olsen was totally off my radar until the last year or two. I was all into the Olsen twins when I was younger and truly envied them every step as I grew up with them. But now it is the younger sister of the twins who has captured my attention, from her acting to her style. 

With the same fortunate genes as the twins, this Olsen is just as beautiful, talented and fashion forward. I was particularly taken with this outfit that she wore to the Stella McCartney Autumn Presentation Party 2016. I love the simple shapes and colours that totally flatter her complexion and figure. She pulls off the loose fit dress effortlessly and accompanies it with an on-trend camel duster coat. I'm really into khaki at the minute and love the asymmetric heels she paired with this ensemble. 

Her simple makeup and casual hair completes the outfit with an inherent elegance. She looks stunning without even trying. Definitely one to watch!

Valentines Day for Singles

Going solo on the big V-day seems to be something that everyone tries to avoid like the plague, it's like this day seems to highlights everyone who is single and create a lot of bitterness or anxiety for them. Having never had a valentine in my life (I'm only 18, I have time) I don't really see the dire need to have one or why anyone would be put out for one day of the year more than any other.  

The story of St Valentine is actually originated to celebrate the sharing of messages of affection, friendship and love; which over time has been morphed into a day for couples to spoil each other with flowers and chocolates. Now, I don't have a problem with this, it's always great the get presents, especially from our loved ones; however I do think it is important to remember why we are giving them and the thought behind the gifts rather than the physical giving and receiving.  

Therefore it is absurd to be put out at not having a romantic valentine when I am certain there are plenty of people in your life that you are grateful for! As well as this, I wanted to put out there that self love and being happy within yourself is just as important as being happy in a relationship, so go and buy yourself a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers! Cheesy much? Ok, I won't go on any longer.

FarFetch: Style the Sunnies

Recently I was contacted by the company FarFetch asking me to put together a stylish outfit based around a pair of sunglasses of my choosing. Of course I obliged to the offering of scouring their site full of gorgeous fashion pieces and creating an amazing outfit that is chic and effortless for spring. 

I'm quite a casual dresser from day-to-day but I do love to experiment when it comes to statement pieces and trends. I love the relaxed yet tailored structure to this outfit, it exudes put togetherness whilst not trying to hard. 

The Glasses- The centre piece of this outfit. Personally I have quite an oval face shape which is more suited to wayfarer glasses and particularly rounded frames, such as those above. The bold shape of the frames balances out my features and subdues my jawline. I am particularly drawn to tortoise shell designs as they appear more flattering on my fair skin tone than a stark black frame, warming up the colour palette of the outfit.

The Gilet- I wanted to keep the outfit light for spring however in England there is still a bit of a chill in the air around this time of year so layers are always essential. This fur lined gilet is the perfect neutral tone to keep in line with the earthy colour tones of the palette, as well as adding a touch of allure to the overall look. Fringe is still so on trend and will be throughout spring, adding a three-dimensional aspect to the outfit.

The Shirt- Isn't this just captivating? As soon as I saw it I knew it had to be a part of the outfit, the animal print gives a nod to the tortoise shell on the sunglasses and the colours just screams spring. I love the contrast against the black as this adds an edge to the clean cut shapes. This shirt is slightly over-sized and I'd tuck it in to appeal to the relaxed aesthetic. 

The Trousers- As for these, I wanted to keep in sync with the refined shape of the whole outfit, so by keeping the trousers fitted it allows for a crisp silhouette. The cropped cuffs flatter the leg, elongate the calf and grace the ankle, obliging a devastating shoe.

The Shoes- These Jimmy Choo's complete the look with a khaki flare and a bronze lace. The ankle height complements the cropped trousers and the cut outs accompany the peep toe to add to the spring vibe of the ensemble. With wrap around laces the casual vibe is reestablished from head to toe, breaking down the strong angles of the other pieces.

The Clutch- Just to finish of the outfit with a practical touch, this clutch adds texture and cleanliness to the earthen tones, picking up the colour palette and harmonising with the shirt.

My Favourite Scents

I've really been getting into perfumes recently, I love how personal someones smell is and how you can connect certain people and memories to certain smells. 

I've never been a massive perfume wearer, I tended to just nick a spritz of my sisters before now, however I do have a certain type when it comes to scents; I like floral perfumes that are light and fresh. I do like sweet perfumes however more for an occasion rather than everyday wear. So I never really splashed out on perfumes until now so I thought I would show you my favourite perfumes now that I actually have more than one!

So my oldest and dearest (and now discontinued) is The Body Shop's Neroli Jasmin Eau de Toilette. I adored this scent for such a long time, and still do, I wore it only on special occasions that's how much I thought of it! And I only have a tiny amount left so I wear it even less now. It's just heavenly, it's slightly musky with a floral uplift and it's such a flattering scent.

As for the most expensive of the three, Marc Jacobs Daisy, I bought this just after last christmas in the sales after having wanted a special perfume for so long and being disappointed not to get one for christmas! This was such a popular scent and I new I loved it, so when I saw it on sale I jumped at it. This is a lot more flowery than The Body Shop's choice however is more of a fresh scent as opposed to the warmth in the jasmin.

Now onto the newest of the bunch and my latest obsession, Soap and Glory's Orignial Pink Eau de Parfum. This was a christmas present from my mum with nostalgia to one she bought me one christmas when I was younger, from Roxy (also now discontinued). When I found this I just had to have it, and so she treated me to it. The box tells me it is comprised of: citrus top notes of orange leaf, lemon, peach and sweet strawberries, with a sparkling heart of mandarin, summer rose, gardenia blooms and jasmin, on a patchouli, warm amber and lush musk base. So in english you can tell it's very fruity, however it's cut with fresh floral tones that even it out to a scent that I just can't get enough of!
